A school bus rammed into nearly half a dozen cars at a toll plaza near Chomu town resulting in injuries to six individuals, including five women on Saturday afternoon. The bus driver lost control over the vehicle as the brakes of the vehicle failed. The injured were rushed to the hospital while the bus driver fled from the spot. The bus has been impounded and a case into the matter has been registered.
A school bus from a well-known school located at Sirsi Road area was being driven from Jaipur to Rampura on Chomu road. “The bus had to cross the Tatiyawas toll plaza. As the bus reached the plaza, the driver saw the line of vehicles at the pay booth and tried to apply brakes, however, the brakes did not work,” officials said.
The bus could not be stopped then and rammed into a car. “However, the vehicle did not stop just then. The driver tried to veer-off from the line but in the process, the bus collided with five more cars and came to a halt later. This created panic at the spot as the driver fled from the scene while the toll plaza staff rushed towards the damaged vehicles to rescue the injured passengers,” officials said.
Six people from different cars were injured. “The injured have been identified as PR Agarwal and his wife Shanti Devi, Meera Devi, Kiran, Prem Devi and Marudhar Kanwar.
“The injured were rushed to hospital at Chomu where they were provided treatment. A crane was called to remove the damaged cars. Further action in the matter is being taken,” officials said.

The injured individuals were rushed to the nearby hospital while the bus driver fled from the spot. The bus has been impounded and a case into the matter has been registered.
