Jaipur's guest list gets full on New Year’s Eve

Its last day of the year and by a rough estimate, every day more than 30,000 tourists have been coming to Jaipur everyday to celebrate the new year in the city. Nearly, 14000 tourists have been coming to the world famous Amber Fort day. Such is the rush that the parking space of Amber Fort has turned small and the dry maotha lake is being used as a parking place for the vehicles of the tourists.

In Walled City shops, there are tourists everywhere buying ethnic Rajasthani materials from the shops while restaurants and food joints are also having a large number of crowd waiting for tasting the delicacies. These include both foreigners and domestic tourists. While the markets are full, there is ‘no room’ situation in most of the city hotels too. 

Particularly, for the night of December 31, all the rooms and spaces are booked mostly through online medium and the ones who have already arrived in the city are now comfortable. Usually, the hotels do not have sudden check in and the rooms are booked well in advance several months before. Most of the hotels have planned special programs for their guests for the last night of the year.

While the temperature is making the mornings cooler and locals shiver, the foreign tourists like this kind of weather and are pretty much liking the weather. Tourists can be seen going around in monuments like Amber, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and other places while the hotels are also getting prepared to welcome the new year. Police administration has made sufficient arrangements so that there is no traffic jam in the Walled City and at other places.

Rush is seen in places like Johari Bazar, MI Road, Raja Park markets while places like malls near JLN Marg are also getting crowded with locals and tourists coming to these places. The tourism season in the city is expected to continue till January end.
