Jaipur: Remand ordered for official, 3 others

The accused were presented before the Sessions Court, Anti Corruption Act, Jodhpur on Saturday.

The Home Department’s SSA PK Mishra and three brokers were arrested by the ACB on Friday for taking a bribe against providing Indian citizenship and long-term visas to the Hindu families migrated from Pakistan. The accused were presented before the Sessions Court, Anti Corruption Act, Jodhpur on Saturday. In order to investigate the case and interrogate the accused properly, the ACB urged the court to send the accused on remand.

After hearing the arguments of the ACB Public Prosecutor NK Sankhala, the court has ordered to send SSA Mishra and the three brokers Govind, Bhagwana Ram and Ashok on police remand till May 21. The ACB intelligence wing Jaipur and ACB Jodhpur rural team arrested the accused for bribe charges from a private hotel situated at Pal Road in Jodhpur. ACB has also nominated the Section Officer of Home Department Kundanlal for investigation in the matter.

Mishra had come to Jodhpur High Court to favour the Central Government and answer the pending petition for granting citizenship to Pak migrants. But, in the meantime, the ACB caught him and the brokers by carrying out a raid. They also recovered a huge amount along with many important documents related to giving citizenship to the Pak migrants.
