The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has started the public awareness campaign under Swachh Survekshan (Clean Survey)-2019. The JMC started its campaign from Jawahar Circle instead of the walled city area and colonies of the city. JLN Marg is the VIP road of the city, which is always kept cleanl. Questions have been raised about the preparations of the civic body for the Swachh Survekshan after the starting the campaign from VIP JLN road.
Swachh Survekshan-2019 will be done between January 4 and January 31. The Jaipur visit and the programme of the central survey team is not yet decided. The municipal corporation is busy making the city clean and beautiful before the survey team’s arrival in the city.
Acting Mayor Manoj Bharadwaj and JMC Commissioner Vijay Pal Singh started the campaign from Jawahar Circle on Saturday morning and informed people about the clean survey. Under the campaign, the mayor and the commissioner inspected the various markets of the walled city including Tripolia Bazaar, Hawa Mahal Bazaar, Jaleb Chowk, Talkotora and Amber road. During this time, the mayor and the commissioner directed the authorities to install new dustbins on all major roads of the city. The mayor instructed officials to remove encroachments from roads and file challan against the polythene users. The mayor has issued orders for the beautification and cleaning of the Talkatora lake. The mayor said that for the tourists the boat ride should be started in Talkatora and the trees would be planted around it.
The chairman of the Garage Committee, Bhagwat Singh Deval, also suggested making a walkway above the Talkatora.
The mayor and the commissioner called a meeting of officials at the JMC headquarters on Saturday and reviewed the preparations for the clean survey. The mayor instructed to start night cleaning system in 55 main markets across the city. The mayor told JMC officials that in other markets of the city cleanliness should be done twice a day and strengthening of sanitation system in their area. The officers should ensure that there is no encroachment on the streets.
