Jaipur: Good chapter in education, freebies galore

CM Vasundhara Raje has given special consideration to unemployed youth and education in the budget allocation for 2018-19. In addition to recruiting 77,100 posts in the education department for the unemployed youth, she has given a free travel gift to the unemployed youth. Candidates appearing for the interview of competitive exams conducted by UPSC, RPSC, Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Service Selection Board can avail free travel in Rajasthan Roadways buses. In addition, it will be for the first time that children in the state will be given free milk in midday meal. Milk will be provided to the students thrice a week in all the primary and upper primary schools across the state. In the schools, the facility will be provided through women’s milk committees registered in the respective panchayat area. Around 250 crore will be spent on this scheme.

On another front, recruitment will be held on 54,000 posts of grade III  teachers, 9,000 teachers for grade II, 5000 lecturers, 4,500 physical instructor grade III, 1,500 sanskrit teachers, 1,200 head masters and 1,200 Grade III lab assistants and 700 library presidents posts.

In order to strengthen infrastructure in school education, CM announced to build 3,379 new rooms and restrooms in 1163 Model Schools. For this, a provision of 360 crore has been made. In addition, next year, 1,832 schools in different categories will be promoted to the higher class. Along with school education, CM has made important announcements to increase the scope of higher education and in this respect, 17 new colleges will be opened in 17 sub-division headquarters of the state.

Retired teachers will be temporarily appointed to fix the problem of dearth of staff in government colleges. CM has announced a new agriculture college in Kota district headquarter and Naugaon in Alwar district. Moreover, Wi-Fi services will be provided in all government colleges across the state. Besides, 500 madarsa of the state will be modernised. Three fab labs will be set up at a cost of Rs6 crore in Jhalawar, Bikaner and Jodhpur and add to it five PG colleges.
