Jaipur Foot US to organise camp for differently-abled

A  camp for differently-abled persons will be organised on Sunday at Nakoda Jain pilgrimage by Jaipur Foot US of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti.

Vinod Rawat, who has climbed the Himalayas, arrived in Jodhpur on Friday to attend the camp. BSF’s DG KK Sharma and Lokayukta of Rajasthan SS Kothari will also be present in the camp on Sunday.

Prem Bhandari, chairman of Jaipur US Foot, told that the camp is being organised in collaboration with Kanakraj Golia, resident of Jodhpur, who lives in New York. All accessories will be given in the camp after examining the differently-abled persons.

He said that Vinod Rawat of Mumbai, who climbed the Himalayas after artificial Jaipur foot, has been called specifically to encourage the people.

Vinod had lost his foot in a road accident at the age of six and he left home at the age of 14. After this, he got to Jaipur foot, which changed his world. With the help of Jaipur Foot, he completed the journey of more than 18 thousand feet from Manali to Khardung la on bicycle.

In 2010, he also reached the height of 20 thousand feet on the Himalayas.

He took part in several marathons and has also made some records. Upon reaching Jodhpur, he said that the foot he got from Jaipur foot USA, is not only a leg for him but a whole life. It gave him a new life. Prem Bhandari, chairman of Jaipur Foot USA, told that the exhibition and seminar will be organised in collaboration with the Indian Government in the UN from May 14 to 18.

Vinod Rawat will also be sent to New York to participate in the seminar.
