Since the work of construction of Elevated Road is going on at the Bias Godown, therefore, most of the vehicle drivers go to Sahkar Marg.
The span of about 1.5 km between Bias Godown circle to Imliwala Phatak becomes a nightmare for the people driving in the peak evening hours as these days it’s taking 20-25 minutes to cross this distance for the people trying to reach Tonk Road via this road during the evening hours, all thanks to traffic jam on this road.
This is the time when people start leaving the office to reach home and take the route to go to Tonk Road. Since the work of construction of Elevated Road is going on at the Bias Godown, therefore, most of the vehicle drivers go to Sahkar Marg.
However, the traffic jam starts right from the Bias Godown circle with four-wheelers, two-wheelers and private buses going to Tonk Road. The vehicles move at a snail’s pace right from the entering of the Sahkar Marg and the challenge to driving continues until one has crossed the Imliwala Phatak junction.
There are traffic police cops deployed at all the intersections and manually try to manage the traffic during the peak evening and morning hours but a large number of vehicles create jam especially during evening time. The people had got a respite during the festival week when the traffic was very less but now once again, jam has returned. The situation turns bad when the Imliwala Phatak is closed for train and the people going towards that direction block the road for the people who are going straight towards Lakshmi Mandir Cinema road. “This gets frustrating, I have to wait for long sitting in the car and waiting for traffic to move, many times I turn my car off,” said Mukesh Kumar, a professional.
The solution does not seem in sight. The JDA and railways constructed an underpass at JP Phatak and closed it with the hope that people won’t wait at Imliwala Phatak. But this has not happened and people wait for long on road blocking the other vehicles on Sahkar Marg.
