Jaipur Discom brings relief to farmers

Department has issued detailed directions for maintaining regular electricity supply on feeders

To pacify the farmers who have been usually complaining about the power cuts in rural areas, Jaipur discom has issued detailed directions to its officials for maintaining regular electricity supply on rural feeders. Timings have been notified for taking shutdowns if needed. Importantly, it has been mentioned that for reducing the loss on high lose feeders, the cooperation of MLA’s and sarpanch’s should also be taken.

It has been ordered that if at all a shut down is needed, for works like giving new electricity connection job work, for Mukhyamantri Sudhaar Abhiyaan and for Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana works for system improvement, then, the shutdown can be taken between 11 am to afternoon 3 pm. For this, the shutdown can be done only by giving prior information to the public through newspapers.

Giving the information, managing director of Jaipur Discom RG Gupta, said that load shedding on high lose feeders will be done between 12 am to 4 am and the load shedding will be stopped if there is a reduction in loss.

The directions have been issued after information was received that orders regarding the shutdown were not being taken seriously by the field officers and were taking shutdown without informing consumers.

One such case was seen in Chomu recently after which the JEN was suspended.

For urban areas, it has been said that the shutdowns can be taken on

Tuesdays and Fridays while for industrial areas shutdowns can be taken on Sundays after informing the consumers.
