After a departmental review by the urban development minister, the Jaipur Development Authority is now on an internal review of its recent projects. Jaipur development commissioner T Ravikanth has reportedly inquired upon the engineering directors on projects which have been pending despite being announced during the previous government.

In several projects, despite the issue of tender, work orders have not been released by JDA. Many of the pending works also include the pre-poll announcement of the last government. According to the officials, there might be 60-70 such issues that might draw the interest of the new commissioner and are expected to be discussed over the weekend. A change in state government in the assembly elections has been followed by an administrative change at the authority and apparently its priority. The new urban development minister has ordered authority officials to improve upon the financial condition of JDA and accordingly initiate new projects.

Along with the development works, there also are issues related to the acquisition of land for flyovers on the ring road and multi-storeyed buildings near the airport. Initiation of regularisation camps remains another major issue waiting for approval of the new administration. The JDA had previously requested the election commission for permission to continue the regularisation process during the model code of conduct, however, it has not commenced the process three weeks past the code got waived.

Amid the list of pending works, the JDA has also released new tenders of several crore rupees over the past month. These include the tender of nearly Rs 8 crore for development of roads in Prithviraj Nagar and Rs 1.2 crore for repairing of BRTS corridor and adjoining road near Panipech.
