Developing a system for transparent and effective service, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) will introduce a 10 point grading module. The new system is intended to make optimum utilization of available manpower and rank the officials in accordance with performance on the set parameters. Jaipur development commissioner T Ravikanth on Monday held a meeting with senior officials at the civic authority to discuss upon implementation of the grading system.

The system in proposal recommends for better services and behaviour for Jaipur residents from JDA. “The grading system will also evaluate the employees on their behaviour with the visitors along with other requirements of punctuality and accuracy at work,” says a JDA official.

Senior officers at the authority, meanwhile, will also be graded on the progress of the process under their command. These are expected to bring improvement in the processes of the JDA’s citizen service center, settlement of cases pending at various tribunals and courts, land acquisition, allotment and similar services.

Even as the implementation of the system is expected to take some more time, its need has long been felt at the development authority. The process such as land deed transfer, name change, land record request and issue of illegal construction bring hundreds of people to make applications at JDA each day. Many of these have to face unnecessary delays and even corruption, the proposed system offers to put check on the practice.

In addition to the internal grading system, the authority will also take steps for public transparency at large. The development commissioner during a meeting on Monday instructed the officials that all circular and orders from the authority and subordinate offices should immediately post its copies on the JDA website.
