After bearing the brunt of the assembly over the delay in submission of reports, the state government has asked the departments to submit the replies to the CAG paras in 3 months time in the assembly. ACS finance DB Gupta has written a letter to all the departments regarding this. In the letter, he has asked the concerned officials to to send the replies on the points raised by CAG on time in 3 months time period and the date for this has been fixed as June 6.

Notably, in past cases, the public accounts committee of the assembly had taken the late submission of replies on CAG paras very seriously and had directed the government to ensure that the replies to the assembly are sent on time.

It has been seen that the government officials are very in-active over the comments raised by CAG over the expenses made by the departments. When the assembly is in session than the departments work overtime to submit the replies to the question asked by the members of the house however after that the activeness seen during the time session was in progress slows down as the session ends.   Now it has been directed that the replies are sent by June 6 so that the assembly doesn’t get another reason to show its displeasure to the government.
