Jaipur: Cops on guard to avoid communal unrest

The members Muslim community of Bundi set a new example of communal harmony when they showered flowers on a motorbike rally taken out by Hindu organisations on Thursday. This shows that the normalcy is returning to the city.

But, as a precautionary measure on Hanuman Jayanti., the internet services, besides broadband and lease lines, remained suspended till next order. Additional forces, including STF and RAC, have  been deployed to meet any untoward situation, Bundi S.P. Yogesh Yadav said. The flag march by RAC personnel was carried out through the markets of the city  in the evening, he said. Meanwhile, sub divisional magistrate (SDM), Bundi today issued notices at least 10 persons for spreading communal and provocative messages on social media. They have been asked to appear before the magistrate on Saturday. However, despite the situation remaining peaceful, the district administration is keeping its fingers crossed as a procession will be taken out in the city on Saturday to mark Hanuman Jayanti.    

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, divisional commissioner Rohit Gupta on Thursday evening issued an order for suspending internet services and bulk SMS in the district till next order. Besides, the broadband and lease line internet services, the 2G, 3G, 4G data internet services, bulk SMS, MMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other social media have been suspended in the district from 8pm on Thursday the next order, Bundi district collector Shivangi Swarnkar said.
