Jaipur: Constructing new district offices proving costly for BJP

The scheme for construction of BJP party office in all 33 districts across the state is proving to be an expensive affair.  

The BJP is getting expensive land from the state government while the price of land in the market is low, say sources. 

The state BJP’s top leadership has instructed the party office-bearers to construct the district unit office on the land allotted by the state government.

The state government had issued a policy for land allotment to the political parties.

Under the policy, there is a provision for allotment of land to the political party on 15% more than the DLC rate of the concerned area. 

“I believe the party should buy private land at its own level instead of getting the land allotted from the government. The government is allotting land on the DLC Rate Plus 15% amount. Whereas private land near government land is available at half price. The party has fixed the policy of taking land from the state government. Therefore nothing can be done,”  a senior BJP leader told DNA.

It was the BJP at the Centre which had instructed to construct party’s district unit office in all the districts across the country. 

As per decision taken, party offices will be constructed in 762 districts of the country. 

The decision has been taken in the backdrop of 33 districts in the state not having its own office. 

All the district units are currently running the office in rented buildings or the party leader’s house while the office in Jaipur district has been made at BJP state headquarters.
