Jaipur: Civil Service Prelims, engineering exam held

Last year, the Supreme Court had ordered to re-conduct the examination of engineers, who had received engineering degrees from four Deemed Universities across the country from 2001 to 2005 through correspondence.

There were two examinations in the state capital on Sunday. First exam was organised for future bureaucrats, while the second exam was for engineers, who did engineering 17 years ago. Following the compliance of the order of the Supreme Court, engineers who had received the correspondence engineering degree 17 years ago gave the examination again on Sunday.

Last year, the Supreme Court had ordered to re-conduct the examination of engineers, who had received engineering degrees from four Deemed Universities across the country from 2001 to 2005 through correspondence. 

Three of these four Deemed Universities are from  Rajasthan. Following this order of Supreme Court, an engineering exam was re-conducted for nearly one lakh engineers on Sunday and was organized at MNIT. On Sunday, the students’ theoretical examination took place, while practical examinations will begin from Monday. The engineering examination went peacefully as no chaos was reported. 

On the other hand, The Union Public Service Commission conducted the Civil Service Prelims examination on Sunday. This was organized in 74 cities throughout the nation including Jaipur and around 3 lakh candidates appeared across the country.  The Civil Service Prelims examination was held in four cities in the state. 

This examination was conducted at 104 centres in Jaipur and 45 thousand 291 candidates registered for this. The candidates were not allowed to enter the examination hall after the scheduled time. Candidates complained that some of them were admitted after the given time at an examination centre in Gandhi Nagar area. About 42 per cent candidates were included in the first innings of the examination, while in the second paper, 40 per cent candidates appeared in the exam. 

70% present

In Ajmer, 70 per cent candidates were present in the first innings, but in the second innings, the presence was a bit low. The examination was held in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur and went peacefully.
