Despite the announcement of waiver of farmers loan of Rs 50,000, the BJP government has come on defensive mode due to the proposed agitation of farmers. The BJP government is now engaged in counting farmer friendly schemes of the state government.

In the same clue on Tuesday, Industry Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat addressed a press conference at BJP state headquarters. Shekhawat denied the farmers’ movement and accused  Congress of playing politics in the name of farmers. Shekhawat said that farmers are not launching any agitation in the state, but people  who are polarizing politics are doing same with farmers. A committee was formed for the debt waiver by the government. Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasara and former MLA Amraram were also members of the committee.

But they did not attend any meeting of the committee. They have no time for farmers. “In case of debt waiver, the state government has also provided better relief to farmers than Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The state government will spend more than Rs 1,35,000 crore on the welfare of farmers only during its entire five-year tenure,” said the minister. According to Singh, this amount is one and a half times more than the last Ashok Gehlot government’s fifth budget. It is worth noting that the state government has announced to waive loans of Rs 50,000 for the farmers in the budget.

However, the farmer is not happy with the announcement of the government. A section of farmers has announced to launch an agitation outside Assembly on February 22. After this announcement, CM Raje has directed the  ministers, MLAs and BJP District President in nine districts of the state including Jaipur to report about the work done by the state government for the farmer’s welfare.
