Jaipur based NGO quenches thirst in Bundi

An NGO from Jaipur has come forward to quench the thirst of hundreds of cattle and animals in two villages of Bundi, about 235 kilometers from the state capital, where water to drink even for humans is hardly available on burning stony dry land in mining areas of the district. Reports of cattle and animals dying due to thirst prompted the volunteers to transport water by tankers to supply into the ponds and empty reserves meant for the animals. The district is currently experiencing the scorching heat of 46+ degree Celsius.    

The organisation came to know of the scarcity of water and of cattle and animals dying of thirst in Chainpuriya and Devdungri villages of Bundi district through reports in the newspaper following which we decided to arrange tankers to supply water in these villages, Sanjeev Sankhala of Jaipur based Help suffering lives society. The water tankers are now being sent to these villages daily and empty reserves and tanks meant for animals in and around the two villages are being filled, he said adding the water supply through tankers will continue in these areas throughout the summer until it begins raining they start getting sufficient water to  drink.

The organisation also provides medical aid and treatment to suffering animals through its veterinary medical teams, Sankhla said adding onsite treatment to the straying animals and cattle is also provided when reported.

The humans as well as cattle, animals are severely hit by water scarcity in these two villages of Bundi district and no drop of water is available, Kamlesh Sharma of Bund. The water supply through tankers in and around two villages is meant for the cattle and animals but people in the area are also not denied of water for drinking purpose and around over 1600 villagers are availing the drinking water from the tankers, he added.
