A strange act of foul play has come to light in the library of the Physical Education Department located in the old campus of Jai Narayan Vyas University of Jodhpur. The former Head of Department Dr Aman Singh Sisodia has been accused of a fraud by replacing the books in the library, which has caused a loss of millions of rupees to the government. Moreover, this act has ruined the studies of the students too.

In place of relevant books for the students, books meant for MBBS and those of religious teachers are kept in the library. It is being said that, HoD was transferred last year, after which the current department head BL Daima checked the stock register and found out huge irregularities in it.

After that, Daima apprised the relevant people in the university including Registrar regarding the same. The then Vice-Chancellor Aarti Singh constituted a three-member inquiry panel and directed them to present a report on the matter.

It was later found that Sisodia had purchased MBBS books for his daughter’s studies and deposited them back to the library. Whereas, there was no need of those MBBS books in any course of the Physical Education Department. Along with that, there is a mention of books worth lakhs of rupees in the stock register, but books are not available in the library.

A member of the inquiry committee Dasarath Singh Solanki informed that prima facie it suggests of a fraud in library’s records and report about the same has been submitted to Prof Avadhesh Kumar chairman of the committee.

Kumar also said that he has submitted the report, on behalf of the team, to the present Vice-Chancellor Professor Radheshyam Sharma. Now, the action can only be taken by the Vice-Chancellor, which is pending for quite some time now.
