Taking potshots at Chief minister Vasundhara Raje, former chief minister and AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot said that she can go to any limit to clinch victory in the by-elections. On Wednesday, Gehlot, along with Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) chief Sahin Pilot, campaigned in Ajmer’s Kekri for party candidate Raghu Sharma.

The party has put the spotlight in Ajmer, which is home turf of Pilot. For past two days Gehlot and Pilot are camping in the parliamentary seat which BJP hopes to retain riding on sympathy waves. The Congress leaders attacked BJP government for its alleged failures and also expressed fear of misusing government machinery and manpower. Gehlot expressed this concern in Ajmer’s Kekdi addressing a rally. “Raje can go to any extent to win the elections, and this was proved in Dholpur by-election. The way in which the government resources and administration are being misused in these by-elections, it is highly condemnable. But we believe people will show a mirror to the BJP in these by-elections,” said Gehlot. Meanwhile, Pilot, looked confident and is assured of winning all bypolls which would lead to a change government in next assembly election. “You (people) made mistake while giving votes to BJP in last election when you were misguided by fake poll promises. It’s time to correct it and elect Raghu Sharma who would fight for your causes”alleged Pilot.

He further alleged that BJP government failed to fulfil promises which it committed in ‘Suraj Sankalp’ Patra, manifesto, during assembly election. “This has hurt sentiments of the people who have now made up mind to overthrow BJP,” stated Pilot.

‘Fake’ pilot vs ‘Fake’ home minister

Meanwhile, Pilot has alleged BJP for using money and power to buy votes in by-elections and shot a letter to the chief electoral officer (CEO) to be vigilant and active to stop it.
Talking to scribes in Ajmer, Pilot replied to home minister Gulab Chand Kataria’s jibe which he took calling Sachin a fake pilot. “I have a license of piloting and Kataria has no knowledge of it. I feel he is a fake home minister under who supervision the states law and order is deteriorated.
