After Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, now there is a direct option to fly to Cochin also from Jaipur airport. Indigo Airlines has recently started this flight from Jaipur which takes off from Jaipur at 18:15 hours and reaches Cochin in merely 2 hours and 35 minutes and lands at 20:50 hours.
There are many more flights which are offered by various airlines to connect these capital cities of southern states from Jaipur airport. Apart from this recent addition, Jaipur has been connected with a direct flight to Bhopal also.
Jaipur passengers who stuck to get a connecting flight from either Delhi or Mumbai for going to Bhopal have got a sigh of relief. Air India has started this flight which takes 1 hour and 30 minutes between Jaipur and Bhopal.
There is an added bonus with this flight which Air India is operating. This flight also goes to Raipur. The time taken by this flight to reach Raipur via Bhopal is 3 hours and 30 minutes, much less than the time taken by flights previously. Both these flights have been started recently from Jaipur airport.
The number of flights from Jaipur airport to the various domestic airport has seen a rise in the last few months. The airport currently operates 69 flights of which 60 are domestic flights while 9 are international flights. Its international destinations include Sharjah, Dubai, Muscat and Bangkok. In the last few months, a large number of flights have started flying in and out of Jaipur airport.
In a report issued by Airport Authority of India (AAI), between April to August in this financial year, 2174939 passengers used Jaipur airport for their travel. These include both domestic and international passengers. Currently, the runway of Jaipur airport is closed for flight operations from 10:30 pm to 5 am since October 29.
The NOTAM (Notice to Airman) as its popularly called will be effective for one and a half month till December 14 for the construction related work. As such, the international and domestic flights which operate at Jaipur airport between this time duration have changed their schedules. Currently, the work of making a parallel taxi track is being done along the runway and with the linking of this, the turnover time of aircraft will get reduced thereby saving time.
