Talks between the government and Gurjar community are expected to reach a positive conclusion. The Gurjars have given a five point letter of demands to ensure that the reservation will not be held up in legal hurdles.

Deliberations on these demands were held at Malarna Dungar on Friday. Tourism minister Vidhvendra Singh and IAS officer Neeraj K Pawan were present for the talks. It is being expected that the two parties could reach a consensus later in the evening.

The talks had moved from railway tracks to a room at the Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra in malarna Dungar after Vishvendra Singh said in no uncertain words said that talks cannot be held on tracks. Advocate Shailendra Singh and Col Bainsla’s son Vijay Bainsla were part of the talks. They had demanded that an official confirmation of their demands be given to them before they would end the protest.

Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh said, “A letter is to come from Jaipur. I will divulge the details about it later. They have given some points and I will be able to divulge them only after I get it. Talks have been held in congenial environment.”

Speaking to DNA Vijay Bainsla said, “We have said what we had to say. Awaiting written assurance. We will not compromise on this. We need written assurance about the continuity of 5 per cent reservation.” .  He hoever refused to divulge the details of the five demands.

As per sources the demands are largely related to written assurance on continuity of 5% reservation even if the Bill meets legal hassles. They also seek quota in all pending vacancies.

Govt Gives 10 am Ultimatum To Gurjars

Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh has issued an ultimatum to Gurjar leaders to vacate railway tracks and roads by 10 am or be ready to face action. He said he has communicated this to Col Baisla. Singh said “If the jam is not opened then the government will do its own work. We will now function as governments can function.” Expressing ire at Gurjar not vacating railway tracks and roads, despite a Bill having been passed in the assembly, he said, “I have been camping here to negotiate. We will not allow the people of the state to suffer and watch silently.”
