As Rajasthan Assembly witnessed Opposition creating a ruckus over farmer agitation leading to adjournment twice, state home minister Gulab Chand Kataria informed the House that agencies that acted against the farmers are taking measures to prevent situations in the future and also declared that 167 farmers who were detained would be released.
Speaking on the issue, Kataria said that while there is no restriction on holding rally in Jaipur he had personally told the farmers that he could not allow the rally on February 22.
“I personally talked to the farmer representatives expressing helplessness in not allowing their protest. As a preventive measure we detained the farmers enroute. We had arrested 332 farmers, of whom 165 have already been released on bail,” he said while announcing release for the rest.
