‘Govt tenants’ get right to terrace: UDH

A decision in this regard was made during a meeting of the department held on Thursday under UDH minister Shrichand Kriplani.

Tenants of local development body holding possession of properties for long tenure shall now also have the ‘right’ on the terrace. The urban development department has decided to extend the lease duration for such tenants from 30 to 99 years and shall have a right to purchase terrace of the property. 

A decision in this regard was made during a meeting of the department held on Thursday under UDH minister Shrichand Kriplani. 

Meanwhile, at another meeting of the cabinet sub-committee held during the day, the UDH minister proposed extending relief in issues related to “mandir mafi” land. The sub-committee discussed the various aspects concerning the land, affected families and its impact on the livelihood of priests. However, another round of meeting is expected on the issue before the recommendations are forwarded to the state government for approval.

“Officials have been instructed to hold discussions with the affected families, priests and public on the issue of ‘mandir mafi’ land. 

A report based on the discussions shall be taken up at the next meet and thereafter the recommendations will be presented to chief minister,” said Kriplani.  It was a busy Thursday for the UDH minister as several meetings of his departments were scheduled. 

He also reviewed the progress of sewerage projects being undertaken by local self-governance department, Rajasthan urban sewerage and other related development bodies. 

Deadline Is July

Instructing the officials to speed up work of the ongoing sewerage projects, the UDH minister Kriplani said that all of these shall be completed by July 2018.
