Chief minister Ashok Gehlot has admitted that swine flu cases are growing in the state but with it he said that the government is taking all measures to stop the epidemic. Gehlot, while talking to mediapersons at the PCC, urged people to be aware of the deadly flu and take immediately treatment on witnessing cold and cough symptoms. Citing his own example the three times CM claimed that he also suffered from the flu but it got cured in five days as he took medicines on time.

“As per the WHO mandate swine flu intensifies in each three-year circle. Nonetheless the government has taken all measures and has dispatched health teams to Pali, Jodhpur to control the flu. There was not a single lab to test the flu when it was detected. Now at each divisional headquarters and even at the district headquarters the labs have been set up,” CM said.

“The doctors are on alert and are doing effective monitoring. Though the cases of flu are growing and I accept it. Until the people are aware of the disease the doctors will not be able to do anything. If anyone has symptoms of flu then he or she should rush to a doctor and get treatment on time,” said Gehlot.

When asked about any proposal under consideration to stop pension to MISA/DRI prisoners the CM refused to comment. He also said his government would not indulge in vendetta politics. “People have understood that just words cannot buy food. No concrete work was done by the saffron party. People in BJP have started believing that Amit Shah and Narendra Modi are ruling the country and not the BJP,” he said. He said BJP gave five years of misrule to state and failed to fulfill promises it made before coming to power at Centre.

On alleged irregularities in loan waiver scheme that came to light after names of farmers who never took loans featured in a list of beneficiaries in Dungarpur district, CM said it was a scam of previous BJP government. “We have just formed government. It is unfortunate to raise allegations against Congress. We have complaints about the scam done by BJP,” he said.
