In a pleasant surprise for denizens of the city, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC)has eased the process of acquiring birth and death certificates.
In a step forward, the civic body will henceforth issue these certificates from the zonal helpline centres only and that too with digital signatures.
So, people need not go to the civic body’s office to get the certificate but can collect it directly from the e-mitra or lokmitra in their areas.
However, this facility will only be available to the kin of those who were born or dead on or after September 1,2014.
The central government instructed the urban local bodies to issue birth and death certificates with the digital signature. This order has been implemented in a bid to make JMC one of the best civic bodies in the country.
JMC has started issuing birth and death certificates from digitized signature from January 1, 2018.
According to municipal officials, digital signatures of the designated deputy registrar (birth and death) of eight zones of the municipal corporation has already been issued. Therefore, the certificate of birth and death registered in the respective areas can be issued.
Mayor Ashok Lahoty said that since January 1, 2018, the system of the digitized signature has been implemented. Now, after September 1,2014, certified birth and death certificates will be issued at the zone level.
