In a major crackdown on the peddling-rings the Jaipur police seized a drug stash of over three hundred kilos on Saturday. The police along with an illegal warehouse of the gang also exposed of the supply ring to the naxal stronghold areas of Odisha. The investigations further ahead will be difficult as the gang members arrested on Saturday were never in direct contact of the suppliers.
 
"The transactions were held in absolute anonymity and confidence, the deal was fixed on phone while payment were channelised through hawala or cash. The local suppliers held no knowledge of the supplier's identity,"  a senior police officer tells.
 
It is being assumed that the suppliers might be part of the naxal ring themselves that have been using drug trafficking as a revenue source. The gang busted on Saturday is assumed to be just one of the many such local cartels associated with the naxal drug ring and even as the investigations are expected to hit a block at supply end the city police is contended to have exposed a major local dealer.  
 
"Among the eight arrested also include key members and mastermind, their local base and supply modes have also been exposed," said the officer. "These were like local suppliers with links to smaller peddlers in the city," he added.
 
Initial investigations had revealed that the gang used to bring in the drug consignments in truck from locations deep within naxal stronghold areas. 'these locations too were informed to them before the delivery was to be made'. Back at Jaipur the stash was divided in smaller consignments for being supplied to local dealers.
 
The gang had established a warehouse of the drug at Kanota area and had vehicles specially modified to conceal smaller consignments to be supplied within the city. The police to have busted the warehouse has also confiscated a truck and three other vehicles modified for the purpose
