The qualification of 25 thousand students who got a fake degree from Jodhpur National University had already become invalid raising questions on the career of 1509 students who have actually studied there. Notably, two years ago the UGC and College Commissionerate had banned the entry of new students in the university, after the disclosure of the distribution of fake degrees. However, no decision has been taken on the 1,509 students studying in the college at that time. As a result, these students continued to study here. Now, when these students have completed their studies and it is time to get a degree, their degree has been termed as bogus.
It is worth mentioning that Kamal Mehta, Chairman of this University, and his colleagues had distributed thousands of bogus degrees after taking huge fees. It was disclosed in 2014 by SOG and ATS.
ADG of SOG and ATS has released the list of 615 students studying in current session including 894 students of the 2015/16 session. SOG also sent the marks list and enrollment number of these students to the Higher Education Department. The Higher Education Department has declared it invalid after two years. The department has released a list of students whose degrees have been declared bogus and have told not to give employment to these students in government departments, offices, and universities.
Earlier, the department had issued a list of 25 thousand students who got fake degrees. Agencies are still investigating the case. So far, the names of 26,506 people who have taken the degree from this University have been revealed in the investigation. The degree of all these has now been revoked. Ten people have been arrested in this case of fraud. SOG is also trying to find out that how many people have got a job.
