Foundation laying ceremony of Akshardham Temple today

The foundation stone-laying ceremony of Akshardham Temple in Kaliberi area will be held on February 5.  Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will be the chief guest of the ceremony. A thousand crore rupees is the estimated construction cost of the temple. This temple will be the first of its kind in the world as no iron will be used.

The temple will be built using chittar stones of Jodhpur.  About 80 per cent of the stones have been sculpted in Pindwara of Sirohi. The construction work will be completed in a period of five years. Almost four years ago on December 16, 2013, inauguration of   Akshardham in Kalibari was done. After this, the boundary wall was constructed.
