Centuries ago, Maharaja Man Singh-I of Jaipur had invited artisans of Kundan Meena to the Pink City and offered them a place to settle down. On Sunday, the Rajasthan government took history forward as corridors of Madhvendra Palace at Naharhgarh Fort were thrown open to top contemporary artists of the world to showcase their work, as Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated India's first Sculpture Park that now displays works of 15 Indian and nine international works.

This initiative by the Rajasthan government and the non-profit organisation Saat Saath Arts, supported by several corporate houses including the Zee Group, will be the first permanent International Art Space in Rajasthan.

"This will be drawing people from the state and abroad to share and celebrate international creative expression," said Chief Minister Raje while addressing the gathering at Zee Chowk — a special corridor which has artworks of all the renowned artists.

The co-director of Saat Saath Arts, Shreyasi Goenka, who is also the Content Adviser to DNA, thanked Raje for her support and said the Sculpture Park will soon create an identity in the world of art. "As for me the association with the Sculpture Park begins with being a collector. The location matches well with world class art," she said.

"I feel it is the responsibility of all corporate groups to extend support for conservation and promotion of arts. We wish that more corporate groups come forth for establishing such art venues across the country," Punit Goenka, MD & CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), said.
