A delegation of Congress leaders led by Jaipur district Congress president Pratap Singh Khachariawas on Thursday handed over a memorandum to the governor Kalyan Singh requesting him to direct the state government to enforce Rajasthan School (Regulations of Fee) Act, 2016 which restricts hike of fees in private schools without consulting to the education department. The delegation apprised the governor that party’s agitation against unlawful fee hiking will be continued till the schools roll back their decision.

“In an unlawful manner, the private schools hiked fee while as per the ACT they have no right to do this without taking the government and parents of the students into the confidence. Hence, I asked the governor to direct the the government to get schools roll back the fees and enforce the ACT honestly giving relief to aggrieved parents,” said Khachariawas after returning from the governor house. The fees hike has become a political issue as the Congress has launched an aggressive campaign while the BJP, by all means, is in state of denial on any such issue. Recently, the education minister Vasudev Devnani said that the government was against unjustified fees hike and the education officers had already been instructed to take action against the school for flouting provisions laid in the ACT. Albeit, the Congress seems in no mood to give up the issue and is putting its entire force like AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) did in New Delhi.

Khachariawas claimed that the governor patiently heard the demands and assured of taking action, though there was no confirmation or any statement from the governor house.  The district party head also lashed out Devnani for allegedly defending the private schools on the issue.
