Farmers to get up to Rs 10L accident cover in Rajasthan

The government has decided to give accidental insurance coverage to the peasants up to Rs 10 lakh which is expected to be availed by nearly 25 lakhs farmeRs in the state. 

“The scheme has been inducted and nearly 25 lakh farmeRs will be covered with Rs 10 lakh accidental insurance in the financial year 2018 started from April 1. The farmeRs who took short-term crops loan from cooperative banks will be covered by the insurance in order to give them social security. This year we are giving Rs 1600 crores loan to 25 lakh farmeRs and they all will be eligible to get the insurance,” said the cooperative minister Ajay Singh Kilak on Tuesday. 

Claiming the insurance amount a highest comparing to other states the minister stated that Raje government continuously increased its amount. It was raised from Rs 50000 to Rs 3 lakh and later Rs 6 lakh in last four yeaRs and now it has reached to Rs 10 lakh. “The farmeRs work in adveRs e conditions and provide grains to the common man.It is our responsibility to provide them social security and hence our government is giving Rs 10 lakh coverage on just Rs 188.80 premium per year,” informed Kilak.  With an eye on assembly election slated in the final quarteRs of 2018 the Raje government’s announcement to woo farmeRs is on without any break. Recently in February this year government has waived off one time Rs 50000 loan due on small and marginal farmeRs .
