Employees union goes on strike

Eleven office bearers of Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmchari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, which is protesting for 7 points of demands, sat on fast for 48 hours at Jaipur district collectorate office on Monday. 

The Samiti has gave a call for pen down and tool down due to which works will come to halt in the government offices on Tuesday. The Samiti said that its eleven leaders, of various unions, went on fast in a protest against the government for not meeting their seven points demands. Other union leaders have also staged a similar fast in rest district headquarters of the state.

Those who quit food in a protest in Jaipur include convener of the Samiti Aayu Dan Singh Kaviya, co-coordinator of Samiti Gajendra Singh Rathore, Secretariat union president Abhimanyu Sharma, Rajasthan Teacher Union (RESLA) General Secretary Sumer Khatana, Acting President of Rajasthan State Employees Union Rajesh Pareek, Water Works Employees Union president Ishwar Chandra Sharma.

Rathore and Kaviya, who are leading the agitation, in a joint statement came heavily on the state government alleging it of ignoring demands of the employees. They clarified that the government’s pessimistic approach to the employees will not be allowed and the Samiti will protest continuously until the demands are met.

Their primary demands include the cash benefits of arrears under 7tyh pay commission report regulation from January 2016, while the government has announced it from January 2017, fixing entry level of pay matrix of the state employees on the line of Center and implementation of an old pension scheme for the employees recruited post-2004. The Samiti has threatened a mass stir if their 7 points demands are not met till December 13.
