In the case of the Dravyavati river project, the BJP government seems to be treading the path of the previous Congress government. Like the metro rail project in the tenure of the Congress, the existing government is also preparing to inaugurate the Dravyavati project before the code of conduct for the upcoming assembly elections is put into force.
The river’s work flow will be completed before August 15, 2018 while the remaining tasks will be completed by the end of this year. The Dravyavati river project is the dream project of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who instructed JDA officials to complete this river work by August 15.
The date of completion of the project, according to the tender, is October 2018 and it has been handed over to Tata Projects Limited. After pressure from the state government, the company has been doing the work at a brisk pace.
The firm’s representatives claim that the work of the river flow under the project will be completed by August 15. If the company officials are to be believed, the treated water of all five sewerage treatment plants (STP) will start flowing after August 15. The officials did not give a clear answer when asked when the construction of road, cycle track and other public facilities on both sides of the river will be completed. According to sources, the company will complete the river channel a before the election code of conduct is enforced so that the government can inaugurate the project.
