Rajasthan to me is transforming young minds with grit and fervent passion who will change this world. The state has given me support at every step of my journey from being a fledgling to teaching thousands of kids. Being an educator, I have seen the landscape of education change rapidly.

I started from a garage and today Jayshree Periwal Group of Schools has earned a reputation of being an educational institute at par with any International level school. We now have state of the art infrastructure, mindsets and results. Year after year, the state produces the most brilliant young minds who crack the IIT, UPSC,NEET exams, to name a few. The trajectory of students being placed in top colleges of India and abroad is at an all time high.

This has been possible only with the dauntless support of the government, the unflinching belief of the parents and the undying love of every child. The parents of Rajasthan have dreams and hopes for their children and sacrifice financially and emotionally to help them achieve the dreams of their tomorrow. They want to evolve and give a better tomorrow to their children.

The ethos is to keep them grounded yet give them wings to fly. A wave of change is seen when you see parents who want to ensure financially independent children immaterial of their sex. Children of Rajasthan have inherited qualities of industry and humility from their parents and a severe sense of commitment towards their native land. I have seen a reverse brain drain wherein children are studying at the best places in the world and coming back to this soil to firmly entrench Rajasthan’s rightful place on the world map.

Rajasthan to me is rooted in tradition and ready to embrace the world. It is YESTERDAY and TOMORROW. The culture and history of the state is not hidden in textbooks or locked up in museums. It is resplendent in every lane, every cranny, hand painted on houses in villages, present in the fuchsia and yellow coloured turbans of the rural farmers, present in the domes and jharokhas and most of all in the hospitality offered by its people.

Rajasthan to me is seeing women in colourful attires with their faces hidden but their actions speaking a thousand words. Their tireless toil in the field and at home is a testament to how they irrigate this land and nourish the children of this land selflessly.

We can pride ourselves on the fact that no other state has taken the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan as seriously as our state has. The Sanitation Revolution deserves a badge of honour for the women in rural areas who have been the catalyst for community participation and have used innovative ideas to build toilets especially in a patriarchal society. The beauty of the women of Rajasthan – their thoughts, their actions and their dresses dots the desert landscape and makes it ‘simply colourful’.

It is an interwoven fabric that is a flight of human imagination replete with stories, myths, arts, folklore, regality, culture and eternal splendour. Rajasthan to me is the Romance of yesterday as much it is the Resurgent Rajasthan of today.
