Disaster Relief Force displays its skills in Jaipur

Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, who also holds the portfolio of Minister for Disaster Relief and Civil defense, provided the various tools and equipment to the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) on Monday. 

In a program held at the battalion headquarters of the SDRF, the minister along with senior police officials were shown a captivating rescue performance by the SDRF personnel following which the Home Minister flagged off the trucks carrying the equipment to various battalions at range headquarters.

Seeing and praising the rescue demo by the jawans, the Home Minister said that in the event of calamities, the State Disaster Response Force is very important in protecting the people and property. He said that all the 857 jawans currently employed in this force of an approved number of 1120 have been provided training for rescue work.

The minister expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for the allocation of budget for the equipment. He further said that till now, a unit of NDRF has been made available in Ajmer and at the time of need, teams from other states have been called. He expressed confidence that now there will be no need to convene a team from outside instead our teams will be able to provide any help in other states. DGP OP Galhotra praised the demo by SDRF. He appreciated the ADG – SDRF B L Soni for providing special training to the SDRF jawans. 

The new equipment includes 16 trucks, 48 ​​boats 9 fiber boats, cutting machines, life jackets, various types of ropes, helmets, emergency lights, and other necessary equipment.
