Amid a clutter of issues and anti-incumbency, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to put to test its ‘Delhi Model’ in Rajasthan. Party’s campaign strategy in the state remains on line on its election campaign in Delhi. The party proposes to showcase achievements of the Delhi government as alternative for the state.
“People of Rajasthan have seen governments of Congress and BJP, they need change. We will take the good works of our Delhi government to them,” said senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh during a visit to Jaipur on Monday.
Rajasthan, unlike Delhi, though has huge rural voters and thus a different political terrain. AAP intends to shrug off a party limited to predominantly urban Delhi and has huge hopes from Rajasthan. It has thus been focusing on issues and people falling out on list of the two major parties.
“The BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin. As elections approach they keep aside development and play up communal issues,” says Devendra Shastri, state convener Rajasthan.

AAP in bid to make the ‘difference’ has been keeping its effort subtle against the massive road shows by BJP and Congress. It though talks on issues from Rafale to mob lynching, its field workers have been seeking votes for a government like that in Delhi.
