Two days after the Rajasthan Police successfully nabbed the men accused of the murder of Fatehpur Kotwali SHO and Constable, the cops arrested another man associated with the gang. The police had announced an award of Rs 20,000 on the man. A special team from Jaipur Commissionerate was sent to Chittorgarh district from where the man was arrested.

The arrested accused has been identified as Anuj Jat alias Chota Pandya. “The man is a native of Bahadurwas village under Mandawa police station of Jhunjhunu, however, he had been residing currently at her maternal grandparents’ house in Hirna village under Sadar police station of Fatehpur,” officials said.

After the arrest of the gang leader Ajay Choudhary in the matter, the police also learned about the location of Pandya. “It was learned that the man is hiding in Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district and the information was verified. Upon verification, a special team of Jaipur Commissionerate police was rushed to the spot and the man was nabbed from a house in the town,” officials said.

Meanwhile, the men will now be subjected to strict questioning about other crimes conducted by them. Sources reveal that the police officials are keen to take the matter to court as soon as possible and thus they are looking to finish the investigation thoroughly and present the charge sheet in a record time.

It should be noted that miscreants shot dead a station house officer and a constable of Sikar police when the cops were trying to inspect a car during routine patrolling in the area on the night of October 6. The duo was fired upon after they successfully stopped the car and were inspecting the same for any weapon and other illegal items. While the miscreants fled after firing at the cops, they met with an accident and had to flee on bikes from the spot. Later, the family members of the deceased cops denied accepting the dead body till the time the accused were arrested. After a day-long effort to pacify the family members, the last rites were finally conducted with full state honors.
