The Congress will stage a protest at Rajasthan assembly on Thursday morning against illegal sand mining and its black marketing. RPCC chief Sachin Pilot, accompanied by AICC secretary Vivek Bansal, will lead the protest.

The party leaders for over a week have been protesting against the government for allowing illegal sand mining which shot drastically after a ban was imposed by the Supreme Court. This has caused depression in real estate and lakh of workers were unemployed while black marketing of sand is on without any check, alleged leaders. As a protest the workers also fried pakoda. “The government should take action against the officials involved in mushrooming illegal sand mining and its black marketing. Also, the government taking environment clearance should present its take effectively in the court. Sadly, it has not happened and the workers are forced to sleep with an empty stomach,” said Archana Sharma, RPCC vice president.

Sharma alleged that in the state budget announced on Monday the government allowed sand mining in small areas while for the past three months the workers  have been unemployment.

“This was a leniency on part of the government machinery and hence a protest has been decided in front of assembly on February 15. RPCC chief Pilot and senior leaders will address the protesters too,” added Sharma. The protest will be staged at 2.30pm.
