To gear up its organisational machinery, Congress has chosen to launch its ‘Mera Booth- Mera Gaurav’ (My Booth- My Pride) programme on April 23 in Kota division which is home turf of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. After holding a meeting of PCC members, MLAs and district presidents, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) chief Sachin Pilot on Tuesday approved party’s election campaigning program.
“The party will kick off the program in Kota division on April 23 and next program will be held in Udaipur division on April 26. With the program the party will connect its grassroot workers,” said Pilot addressing to the party leaders attended the meet. AICC general secretaries- Ashok Gehlot, CP Joshi and Avinash Pandey will remain present at the time of the launch of the programme.Pilot also chose Kota division for his Nyay Yatra on farmers issues started in October last year. The party sources said that choosing Kota another time for the program is a deliberated step of party’s to improve its strength which was completed wiped out in 2013 assembly elections. Another important agenda discussed in the meeting was the party’s upcoming rally in New Delhi’s Ram Leela Maidan called by Congress president Rahul Gandhi on April 29 against the current political atmosphere of rising intolerance in the country.
The leader of opposition Rameshwer Dudi, who attended the meet, said workers and leaders from Rajasthan in maximum numbers will attend the rally. “This is Congress’ first rally under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Senior party leaders have been tasked to send workers in good strength for the rally,” said Dudi.
