Union minister of commerce and industries Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday came down heavily on the Congress saying that their lies have been exposed by the Supreme Court judgement on Rafale deal. Addressing a press conference in Jaipur Prabhu said that the margin of difference in votes was minor in Rajasthan and claimed that BJP would win all states that it had lost in the recently held elections when Parliamentary polls are held next year.
Prabhu said that BJP welcomes the SC judgement and described it as the victory of truth wherein the lies of Congress had been exposed. Terming national security as vitally important; Prabhu said Congress had created an atmosphere that cast aspersions on the purchase.
He said BJP is willing to discuss the Rafale issue in Parliament and bring the truth before the nation, but Congress is shying away from it s it has misled people by lying.
He questioned the delay in finalizing the deal during Congress regime and neglecting the defence needs of the country. The Union minister said, Congress had questioned three issues related to Rafale deal decision process, deal price and offset partner. But after the decision of the SC has rendered them defunct.
Speaking about the defeat of BJP in the recently concluded assembly polls, Prabhu said this is the first time when the difference in vote share between BJP and Congress; the losing and winning parties; is mere 0.5%. He said Rajasthan has a tradition that the party in government does not manage to win again; but the difference in vote share between them is huge. He said the slight 0.5% difference is proof that people had put stamp of approval on the development works of BJP government led by Vasundhara Raje. He thanked the people of Rajasthan for exhibiting this faith.
After losing the recently concluded assembly polls in Rajasthan; BJP has quickly adapted to the opposition mode. In just about a week after the results it has planned statewide protests at all district headquarters on Wednesday on the Rafale issue. BJP post holders will give memorandum for the President to district collectors.
