Commuters wait for early end to Gurjar agitation

After the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur route was blocked by Gurjar agitators many trains in the last few days have been cancelled and diverted by NWR also.

Train and bus passengers, whose travel plans have been disrupted because of 8-day Gurjar agitation, are hoping for early end to the blockade. Many trains and bus service have been cancelled to due Gurjars occupying railway tracks and blocking highways. Many tourists in Jaipur who have planned to go to Agra are waiting for the blockade to end so that they can resume their travel plans. Everybody is just inquiring with the railway authorities and roadways about the routes which are open so that they can travel. West central railway on Friday cancelled about two dozen trains which were to commence journey from Friday till February 18. 

While many have been diverted. After the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur route was blocked by Gurjar agitators many trains in the last few days have been cancelled and diverted by NWR also.

Currently, the Gurjar agitators are sitting on the tracks between Isarda and Chauth Ka Barwara disrupting the movement of trains between Jaipur and Swai Madhopur. The same track connects Jaipur with Mumbai and Jaipur and Indore.

This happened on Wednesday afternoon at the time when assembly was discussing the bill to give reservation to the Gurjars . 

The situation of bus service, especially to Uttar Pradesh, remains paralyzed since the last few days. Sources said that bus connectivity to Uttra Pradesh was reduced by about 80% with most of the routes still occupied by agitators. 
While this is not only routine passengers who wish to go to UP or other places in Rajasthan, it’s also hurting the passengers who wanted to go to Kumbh in Prayagraj. Large number of passengers booked the tickets and paid the fare of buses in advance and now are not able to go.

However it seemed after the dialogue between the government and Gurjar community leaders that the 8-day long agitation may soon end.
