The daily passengers of Rajasthan Roadways are the direct victims of the ongoing strike of as the roadways strike entered its day five on Friday.

These passengers get the monthly pass for their travel and in the recent days, when it’s the fifth day of strike, they have to use alternative modes to travel by paying extra charges. Unlike the other passengers who are either using the services offered by Lok Parivahan buses or private buses.

“I have to come from Chomu to Jaipur daily for my office. I got my monthly pass made but due to strike, I am not able to use the pass and have to come using other means after paying money, I have already paid money in advance to the Roadways,“ said Govind Sharma a daily passenger speaking to DNA.

Last time in the month of July, when the strike happened for 3 days, then too the daily passengers who have the pass had to suffer. Sources in Roadways inform that such passengers can claim their right once the strike is over to get the balance adjusted in their monthly pass. Rajasthan Roadways doesn’t have the system like metro wherein a prepaid card is made for the passengers, which they can use as per their convenience and can get it recharged as per their requirement.

“We will think over it seeing the records,” said UD Khan, executive director. Meanwhile, the low-floor buses also remained on the strike on Friday. Since last 4 days, they have thrown the daily life of passengers out of gear. Since it was a holiday in most of the educational institutions and offices due to Muharram, there was less problem for the commuters.

“I have to give my car to my son who goes to Sitapura for studies as the low-floor is on strike. I do not want to use the mobile app based cabs as it will put a hole in my pocket since I live in Jhotwara. Instead, I am using cab service as my office is near,” said Suraj Sharma a professional.

Monthly Pass In Roadways

In Rajasthan Roadways, the monthly pass system exists and the passengers have to get the passes renewed every month. Currently, due to the strike, the monthly pass holders are at a loss and roadways officials informed that the issue will be thought over.
