CM Vasundhara Raje visit saves threatened Shekhawati havelis

Defending traditional facade of Shekhawati havelis will be a joint responsibility of the district administration, local bodies and police. The plight of these havelis being threatened by mischief of notorious elements and ignorance of civic authorities caught notice of chief minister Vasundhara Raje during her Jansamwad (public dialogue) at Fatehpur town of Sikar district on Saturday. The CM immediately issued orders to the Jaipur division commissioner and police range IG to ensure conservation of these traditional buildings that have gained global fame for their architecture.

The plight of these havelis being threatened by mischief of notorious elements and ignorance of civic authorities caught notice of chief minister Vasundhara Raje during her Jansamwad (public dialogue) at Fatehpur town of Sikar district on Saturday. The CM immediately issued orders to the Jaipur division commissioner and police range IG to ensure conservation of these traditional buildings that have gained global fame for their architecture.

These buildings of Shekhawati stand evidence of the glorious history of the land, however, at Fatehpur town a few of these are in danger due to recent civic issue of water logging. Seepage has been damaging walls and weakening foundations of the havelis. The chief minister during the public dialogue ordered the district collector and local body officials to resolve the issue, while instructions were also made to principal secretary, local self-governance to develop a detailed project report for ensuring conservation of heritage appearance of these havelis.

Chief minister Raje at the Jansamwad met representatives from various community members of the area. These public dialogues held in series in cities across the state have become feedback and grievance redressal platform enabling local community representatives to have their voice heard at the highest podium of governance in the state. At Fatehpur too, the CM Jansamwad had immediate resolution for several long pending issues.

CM on her visit also flagged of Annapurna mobile kitchen vans to deliver quality food at affordable price. She here also assured members of villages on forest land to have the proposal of land diversion processed soon. The chief minister talking of improvement in education services told the gathering that the results of government schools have improved by two per cent in Sikar.
