Before the assembly elections, the state government may once again face the Gurjar agitation. In a mahapanchayat held in Chauth ka Barwara in Sawai Madhopur district, Gurjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla has given a 25-day ultimatum to the state government. The reason? Gurjars aren’t happy with the five per cent reservation given to them. He announced that if the state government does not take any concrete steps within 25 days, fresh agitation will be held.

This time, the movement will start from Malarna Dungar station of Sawai Madhopur. In the Mahapanchayat, main speaker of the Rajasthan Gurjar Arkshan Sangarsh Samiti, Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla apprised members of the Gurjar society how they had been agitating told that the Gurjar society had to make frequent agitations for reservation. Earlier, 72 people had laid their for the “cause”. He told that before the proposed recruitment of the Rajasthan Police, the Gurjar community should take a firm decision  so that people of the community can also get the benefit of reservation in police recruitment. It was decided to boycott the Gurjar politicians in the current government in the Mahapanchayat.

“The crops are being harvested now. Therefore, we are postponing our agitation for 25 days. Gurjars are demanding five percent reservation separate from OBC. Unless the government fulfills this demand, our movement will continue. Gurjars will move again after 25 days,” said Bainsla.

Committee spokesman Himmat Singh Gurjar alleged that BJP had promised to five castes in the Suraj-Sankalp Yatra and election manifesto during the assembly elections 2013, that 5% reservation will be applied to the constitutional conformity when “our” government comes. “The government did not fulfill its promise. In five years, we have also organized two agitations. But the state government did not form a constitutional bill. The BJP government constituted all the boards and corporations, gave representation to the people of different sections of the state, but not constituting the Devnarayan Board and denying our representation, the development of five castes was blocked due to non-constitution of the Devnarayan Board.
