The deadlock between two groups of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) shows no signs of easing.

On Wednesday, sole arbitrator of RCA, retired justice Shivkumar Sharma restrained RS Nandu, the suspended secretary of RCA, from creating any hurdle in the day-to-day functioning of the cricket body and from discharging the duties of honorary secretary in an unauthorised manner.

But Nandu, while contesting the order issued a press release, claiming that retired justice Sharma has no jurisdiction to pass any order.

Nandu claimed that as per the RCA constitution a permanent arbitration tribunal had been formed on February 2017 of which justice Karni Singh Rathore is the chairman.

The tussle began when justice Sharma, on an application filed by RCA through its officiating secretary-cum-joint secretary Mahendr Nahar against Nandu, restrained him from interfering in the Association’s day-to-day activities.

In the order it was said if a non-claimant (Nandu) was not restrained from disrupting working of the officiating secretary of RCA, the claimant (Nahar) would suffer irreparable loss.

Interestingly the copy of the order of arbitrator retired justice Sharma bears the date  of July 10 but was circulated on Wednesday.

After this Nandu termed the whole exercise of RCA wrong and issued a press release in which he claimed that an order issued on July 8 by member of tribunal KC Jain had restrained RCA from disrupting work of Nandu.

Given the legal complications, the deadlock continues with both sides claiming that they’re on right side. It may be noted here that on June 24 , in its first meeting the executive commitee headed by Joshi had suspended Nagaur Cricket Association and had also suspended Nandu who was elected secretary of RCA.

Rajputana League not approved by BCCI

In a letter purportedly issued by BCCI’s acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary, it has been said that tournament named Rajputana Premier League being played in Jaipur is not approved by the BCCI. The letter has requested, the affiliated units of BCCI, to bring this to the notice of players registered with their associations when they approach the association seeking NOC. After this Nandu released a press release cancelling the permission given to the tournament. The league was inaugurated on Tuesday and is being played at KL Saini stadium in Jaipur.

On Thursday, the court may hear the application filed by Nahar which was authorised by RCA president CP Joshi to take back the case against BCCI.
