One of the three child labourers, rescued from a Kachori shop on Saturday noon was on Sunday evening abducted from children care home by unidentified accused who reached there by two jeeps. The accused also took away the files and papers related to the three child labourers from the care home office.

A joint team of child welfare committee (CWC) and child line, on Saturday noon, rescued three child labors, all boys between 15 – 16 years old from a Kachori shop in Aerodrome circle area under Gumanpura police station area of the city. The CWC, following the rescue, ordered to send the three child labors to children care home in Jawahar Nagar police station area of the city.

About 10 to 12 unidentified persons including women in two jeeps reached children care home in Jawahar Nagar area today evening around 5 o’clock, CWC, Kota chairman Harish Gurubakshani told. They first locked up five staff members of the care home in the kitchen and took one of the three child labourers rescued on Saturday noon from a Kachori shop in Aerodrome circle area of the city, he said adding the accused also took the files and papers related to the three child labors. The freed child labor is from Ajmer, he added. The accused persons also manhandled the staff members and other children of the home, he further said.

The abducted child labourer is from Ajmer, Gurubakshani said. It is a case of abduction as the and CWC would direct the Jawahar Nagar police to lodge a case of abduction under sections of IPC and JJ Act, he added. “We are checking the CCTV camera footages to ascertain the identity,” he said. Jawahar Nagar police also reached the spot and initiated the investigation but no case was lodged till the story was filed.
