The Forensic Science Lab (FSL) has confirmed that Chetan Saini’s death, a fortnight ago, was a suicide and not a murder in a report submitted to the city police.

Highly placed sources in the department said that the FSL had conducted a thorough examination of the evidence and has submitted five separate reports including the viscera report in the final report. “A FSL has not found any evidence that could suggest that the man was murdered. On the contrary, there are evidences that the man committed suicide,” an FSL official told DNA requesting not to be named.

The report now gives breather to the police which had been holding on to the FSL to provide its report in the matter so that further action can be taken. “The police will take further action based on the FSL report which had been awaited for the past few days,” police officials said.

It should be noted that Saini was found hanging on ramparts of historical Nahargarh Fortr on the morning of 24th November. The mystery even deepened as ‘inflammatory’ scribblings, written by charcoal, were discovered on a couple of dozen stones. Scribblings also referred to 'Padmavati' movie protest.

Senior police officers and forensic teams that rushed to the spot too were unable to reach a logical explanation till late evening. "It’s premature to comment on the issue, investigations are being carried in the incident," said Satyendra Singh DCP Jaipur (North).
