Sources revealed that the CBI team investigating the matter had filed an application in CBI court to interrogate the two brothers of gangster Anand Pal Singh - Rupendra Pal alias Vicky and Devendra alias Gattu.
Conducting its investigation into the Anandpal Singh encounter case, a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths questioned Singh’s brothers who are lodged in Ajmer jail. The duo were questioned for several hours regarding the case and their statements were recorded.
Sources revealed that the CBI team investigating the matter had filed an application in CBI court to interrogate the two brothers of gangster Anandpal Singh - Rupendra Pal alias Vicky and Devendra alias Gattu. The five-member team had obtained permission from CBI court Jaipur and proceeded to Ajmer jail where the duo are lodged. The team questioned the duo for five hours regarding their arrest by the SOG and subsequent events leading to the encounter. After the questioning, the team returned back to Churu.
Notably, over a week back the CBI team had reached Malasar village where the encounter had occurred and questioned Shravan Singh and his family members. It was in Shravan Singh’s house in which the encounter had occurred. Singh and his family were questioned for several hours following which the team returned back to Churu.The CBI team has also questioned several members from the Rajput community who had been demanding CBI investigation into the matter.
The CBI is investigating their role in the violence at Sanwrad last year. It has been said that after the death of Anandpal, after the provocative speech of Rajput leaders at a public gathering at Sanwrad, the crowd became violent.
A case was thus registered in Jaswantgarh police station subversion, assault, and police arms loot, burning a vehicle of Nagaur SP, in connection with the molestation of Probational IPS.
