Candidates’ selection: BJP to begin process from Sunday in Rajasthan

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will start the process of selection of probable candidates for assembly elections from Sunday and senior BJP leaders of the state will meet the organisation office-bearers of the all the 200 assembly constituencies across the state for ten days. BJP state president Madan Lal Saini has sought an opinion from the public for the probable candidates through Facebook.

A Facebook account in the name of Madan Lal Saini has posted on Facebook regarding the same on Thursday. In this post, public opinion has been sought for a possible candidate of BJP. However, this is not a verified Facebook account of Saini. Saini told DNA that, “a lot of people came to me. They are not BJP workers, but they have given the opinion for the probable. We will also take public opinion during the candidate selection for assembly election”.

On the other hand, BJP state headquarter released the feedback program on Friday for probable candidate selection. State president Saini, in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, national joint organisation secretary V Satish, organisation general secretary and other senior office-bearers will take feedback for probable candidates. This feedback program will be held from October 14 to 23. The program covering Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota and Jodhpur divisions will be held at Ranakpur of Pali district from October 14 to 17 and feedback program of Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer division will be held in Jaipur from October 20 to 23.

As per the schedule, BJP leaders will interact with the assembly-wise BJP office-bearers and public representatives and take feedback about probable candidates of the concerned assembly constituency. After forming a group of three-four assembly constituencies, different organisational leaders will take feedback from the party workers. The panel of probable candidates will be prepared on the basis of names obtained from the workers. 

This panel will be sent to the central BJP. After that, the parliamentary board of BJP will decide the final candidate.

The feedback program will include party’s district and mandal office bearers, former post holders, public representatives of urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions, current and former legislators, current and former MPs and other office bearers.
