In 2014, when the chief minister Vasundhara Raje had come to inaugurate the JCB plant, it was being operated under a tent. And in the last three-and-a-half years, it has transformed into a world class manufacturing set up with state-of-the-art facility. It is just a small reflection of what Rajasthan has achieved in all those years. “We had promised to create 15 lakh jobs in 5 years. It was pretty well thought of as we have been able to give 13.5 lakh jobs including 1.8 government jobs,” Raje said while speaking at the JCB plant, which rolls out its 3000th machine from the Jaipur facility.

Raje said that investments which companies like JCB brings to the state helps in generating confidence in the business environment besides creating direct and indirect job opportunities. She applauded the UK-based multinational manufacturer of earth moving and construction equipment for appointing women among 30% of its workforce. “Women of Rajasthan can do wonders. Whether it’s sports, academics, medicine, our women are the best,” she said.

The logo etched in prominent black colour saying ‘Made in Rajasthan’ at the reception of JCB plant caught the attention of the chief minister. She praised JCB for taking along the brand Rajasthan to world over wherever its machines go.

“It’s a sense of pride for me. The ‘Made in Rajasthan’ logo gives me satisfaction that the state has done wonders,” she said.

Raje said that the state is lucky to have a Brand Ambassador in company like JCB which helped in the growth trajectory of the state and would take name of Rajasthan to world around. She also said that the company’s plan to invest more in the adjoining 44 acres of land will create more job opportunities in the state.

The chief minister hoped that JCB would announce literary awards to promote literature in Indian languages. She also asked JCB to get associated with the Jaipur Literature Festival next year.

“I would also expect JCB to participate in the Rajasthan Divas festival where we have dancing horses, dancing camels and other exhibitions. I have seen JCB machines dancing to the tunes of music last time. I wish to see them dancing on the occasion of Rajasthan Divas next year,” she said.

Among other dignitaries present included Industry Minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat,  Member of Parliament Ramcharan Bohra, Bagru MLA Kailash Verma, ACS Industry Rajeeva Swarup, Industry Commissioner Kunji Lal Meena, Chairman JCB Group Lord Bamford, Group CEO Graeme MacDonald and Managing Director & CEO, JCB India Vipin Sondhi.
