Kota Municipal Corporation (KMC)’s assistant fire officer, who was sent on Awaiting Posting Order (APO) by state government and on Monday was transferred from Kota to join at directorate, local bodies in Jaipur, was admitted to a local hospital after complaining chest pain.

Rakesh Vyas on Tuesday evening celebrated his daughter’s birthday and later at night posted several messages, some of them very sentimental on his WhatsApp group alleging harassment by KMC mayor Mahesh Vijay and six other councillors.

“I am going to resign on (next) Monday from service and I am stating it in full consciousness, I have been subjected to injustice,” Vyas said in a post and added “I am being bullied in the name of service”. He said  “I am suffering from depression and if something happens to me seven people including mayor of KMC and  six other councillors will be responsible. I have not accepted even a single rupee and these people insulted me in the house (sadan),” he added.

Terming the behaviour of  Vyas as ‘immature and against the code and conduct of a government official, KMC mayor refuted allegations levelled against him.  ‘APO order is not such a big issue for a government official as Vyas is projecting it, he said, adding if he really subjected to injustice, he should follow the legal procedure and move to the court.

Mayor clarified that Vyas, despite being shown copy of stay order by directorate of local bodies on the construction at CAD circle that shown as encroachment, demolished it. Later, prior to the receipt of APO copy, he created nuisance at KMC with other fire brigade personnel and block the KMC gate sounding aloud the sirens of fire tenders, mayor Vijay said.
